There is no doubt that I love a good California wedding, especially one in the mountains. Sophie and Todd hosted their wedding at Strawberry Lodge, a beautiful lodge just outside Lake Tahoe in Kyburz, California. You may remember Sophie and Todd’s engagement session in Big Sur a while back. These two are as adventurous as they come. Both avid rock climbers who enjoy the outdoors. Two weeks before their wedding Sophie was gifted her great grandmother’s wedding gown and it fit perfectly. Ultimately, she decided to do a first look with Todd in her great grandmother’s dress and then change in to her actual wedding gown and do a second first look at Lover’s Leap, a popular rock climbing location nearby. A beautiful outdoor ceremony, a blue grass band and a lot of wild bunnies this wedding was perfection. Lake Tahoe has quickly become one of my favorite places and this wedding had a lot to do with that.

Megan! I love this wedding – so beautiful, you have captured the wedding perfectly! I mostly love that final image given the kid has a cast on his arm LOL!
Love the mirror shot of her at the top of the stairs and the shot of her walking down the stairs outside for her (first) first look 🙂 Gorg.
I love her yellow shoes and the figure 8 bracelets for the guests! Very pretty!
Beautiful wedding and work!
What a great idea it was to include her great grandmother’s dress! Both dresses are stunning! I love the infinite bracelets as well, such a good way to symbolize the union of their families/friends. Your photos are stunning once again Megan!
Megan!!! This is so beautiful!! <33
Gah this wedding is STUNNING!!!!!!!!!
I just love these! Also, it is amazing that she was able to wear her great grandmother’s gown for the first look. It was meant to be!
These are so good Megan! Love the laid back feel of the day, and it looks like it was such a beautiful location. Great work!
I am totally smitten with this wedding. So many great details, and you can really feel the love they have.
You captured their day perfectly. I feel like I was there! Great job as always, Megan!
