Lisa + Michael’s engagement session in Chicago was perfect. The sun finally came out and the weather warm. It screamed “spring!” It also screamed “best day ever for an engagement session!” Lisa and Michael drove up from St. Louis the night before and met us at Montrose Harbor the next day. They wanted their engagement session in Chicago since not only is their wedding here but it is where Michael proposed.
From the couple:
“Lisa used to drink coffee with co-workers in the break room every afternoon. Michael used to time his trips to the water fountain so he could see her and try to make eye contact. One time they actually talked and Michael made a big deal out of how he pronounces every letter in “caramel” (not “carmel”). There was a happy hour around Christmas where Lisa laughed at Michael for liking the Discovery album, but was secretly pleased that he even knew who they were. There was a concert and a lunch trip to Jimmy John’s before the first official date- an afternoon movie and a way-too-early dinner. Many more sub sandwiches, happy hours, concerts and early dinners followed…until they knew, for sure, they were meant to be together forever.
They were back in Chicago to see The Book of Mormon and eat at all the restaurants they missed since moving to Saint Louis. Michael forgot to kneel but remembered to get the ring from his coat pocket. Lisa knew it was coming but was also somehow surprised. They both spent every day since, just like every day before, falling more and more in love.”

The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy.
